The Oral Learning Portal - Oral Practice Reinvented
Preparing students for Oral Examinations have always been difficult for
teachers. In a classroom environment, students are shy to read the prescribed
passages, discuss about pictures displayed before them or even to hold a
conversation based on various pre-determined subjects.
EduBlitz is pleased to introduce to you the Oral Learning Portal (OLP), a
revolutionary tool to help your students improve on their oratorical skills.
The Oral Learning Portal allows users to
upload their recorded reading passages, which can be evaluated by either their
fellow peers, teachers or even parents, through the online feedback
system. Their passages will be graded by teachers or their peers based on their
pronunciation and articulation, rhythm and fluency, pitch and tone. Students can
also,
by listening to what they have recorded,
improve their own oratory skills based on these evaluations.
Students will be able to record their readings, discussion or conversation with
their web browser, which means there is minimal setup by the student or the
school. Students and teachers will also be able to search OLP resources by
keyword. |
Features of the Oral Learning Portal
> Evaluate Using Actual Examination Grading System
Evaluation is carried
out by using 'O' Level or 'PSLE' Cambridge grading system. Additional comments
can be added to give a more comprehensive evaluation.
> Track Performance and Guaranteed Results
Users can track their
own performance by comparing the evaluations of their new recordings with
the previous versions. Language teachers can also identify common problem
areas and help students to achieve better results.
> Self and Peer Analysis and Evaluation
The passages,
discussions and conversations can be recorded and played back for as
many times as the student desires so that a good analysis and evaluation
of the oral reading can be done, at their own pace, even from the comfort
of their home.
Peers can evaluate the student, to provide a more accurate evaluation of the
student's recordings. |
